Maintenant, on nettoie afin de se préparer à l'inspection finale... Nous avons été averti par collègues et amis que les inspections finales sont particulièrement sévères. Surprenant quand même vu l'état dans lequel nous avons ramassé la maison il y a deux ans et l'inefficacité générale des gestionnaires de propriétés que nous avons rencontrés.
En attendant, je suis soulagée de vous annoncer que nous avons signé un nouveau bail il y a deux jours, et que nous prendrons possession de la nouvelle maison lundi prochain! Ce fût beaucoup plus difficile qu'on croyait de trouver une maison pour seulement 8 mois -tous les proprios veulent des bail d'au moins un an- disponible tout de suite, alors évidemment, on a du sauter sur la première réponse positive que nous avons reçue. C'est un peu plus loin, et pas vraiment conçu pour une jeune famille, mais pas trop mal quand même vu notre situation. On vous montre ça bientôt!

The first step of the move is over: the house is empty. But strangely, it still feels like home.
We are now cleaning in preparation for the final inspection... We were warned by colleagues and friends that the final inspections are particularly severe. Quite surprising given the state the house was handed to us two years ago and the general inefficiency of the property managers we've met.
In the meantime though, I am relieved to announce that we signed a new lease two days ago, and that we are taking possession of the new house next Monday! It was a lot harder than expected to find a house for only 8 months -the owners all wanted leases of at least a year- which was available right now, so of course, we had to accept the first positive offer we got. It's a bit far, and the lay-out is not great for a young family, but it is still not bad at all given our situation. We'll let you peek soon!
