Essai no 1:
Moi: Combien coûte ce bandeau?
Vendeuse: 50 000 rupies.
Moi: Ok, je vais chercher de l'argent.
Vendeuse: Ok, pour vous, je le fais à 40 000 rupies.
Moi: ...
Vendeuse: Ok, 35 000.
Moi: Ok, ben merci beaucoup!
Essai no 2:
Moi: Combien pour ces pantalons?
Vendeuse: 100 000 rupies.

In Bali, it is expected that people will bargain when buying something. Like many other places around the world, it's just how business is done. However, I hate bargaining, and I suck at it. So here is how my first attempts at buying something at the Ubud market went:
Attempt no 1:
Me: How much does this head band cost?
Market lady: 50 000 rupees.
Me: Ok. Let me get some money.
Market lady: Ok, I will leave it for you at 40 000 rupees.
Me: ...
Maket lady: Ok, 35 000.
Me: Ok. Thanks!
Attempt no 2:
Me: How much for this pair of pants?
Market lady: 100 000 rupees.
Me (trying real hard): That's too much. I give you 70 000.
Market lady: No no no no... 90 000.
Me: All right. Sorry. I'll give you 90 000.
And it ended there, because Nic didn't let me touch any money for the remaining of the trip.
