Breakfast in bed

For my birthday two weeks ago, Elie absolutely wanted to bring me breakfast in bed.  But since my birthday fell in the middle of the week, we agreed to do the breakfast in bed on the Saturday instead.

Of course, when Saturday arrived, the kids were VERY excited about the whole plan and woke up much earlier than usual.  And since dad was taking waaaaay to long to prepare the pancakes, they took the initiative to set up a table on my bed and to start serving food.  And that is how, on a beautiful Saturday morning at 7 am, I ended up with a bed filled with orange juice, two crying kids in front of their ruined surprise and one grumpy dad who had been woken up too early.  We still managed to turn things around and to enjoy pancakes in bed without dropping maple sirup everywhere.  So I guess you can call it a success, but a success I can very well wait another year before repeating!
