Traveling: Kings Canyon

À King's Canyon, on a pris ça mollo.  On a fait une petite marche dans le canyon, incluant un long arrêt près de l'eau; on est resté dans un vrai camping de resort, avec piscine, jeux et machines à laver; on a regarder le soleil se coucher bière à la main; et on s'est même payé une bonne bouffe avec de la musique live dans un restaurant outback BBQ.

Encore une fois, les paysages étaient époustouflants.  Nous avons choisi de ne pas faire la marche qui longe le bord du canyon, car il faisait trop chaud, c'était trop long, et honnêtement, on avait un peu peur que Mia nous échappe et se sauve trop près du précipice.  Alors à la place, on a préféré marcher à l'intérieur du canyon et relaxer près du trou d'eau sacré, pour finalement regarder Élie perdre pied et tomber dans l'eau.  C'était une petite chute, et l'eau, quoique très sombre, n'était pas très creuse, alors Élie a réussi à se sortir du pétrin rapidement.  Mais tout de même, notre coeur a sauté un coup... et Élie a réussi à faire une entrée totale et non autorisée dans un site sacré aborigène.  Chose certaine, on ne pourra pas dire que nos voyages sont monotones...

At King's Canyon, we took it easy.  A short walk in the canyon, which included a long pit stop by the water hole, a nice real resort campground with a swimming pool and washing machines, sunset viewing with a beer, and a fancy meal with live entertainment at an outback BBQ restaurant.

The views were stunning, as always.  We chose not to do the rim walk around the canyon, because it was too hot, too long, and honestly, we were a little bit scared that Mia might run away a bit too close to the edge.  So instead, we walked in the canyon, and chilled by the sacred water hole, only to watch Elie slip and fall right into the water.  It was a short fall, and the water, although very dark, was pretty shallow, so he was out of there in no time.  Still, he gave us quite a fright... and totally trespassed into an aborigines' sacred area.  We are making memories I suppose...
