Exploring: Cotter Dam

One sunny Sunday, on our way to Tidbinbilla, we had to make a pit stop to feed a little tiny person who was letting us know very loudly that she was not willing to wait until we had reached our destination. Our quick stop in the first available parking pricked our curiosity... So we went back the following weekend and discovered a beautiful recreational area around the Cotter Dam and the Cotter reservoir, one of the most important supply source of potable water for Canberra. There is a playground and BBQs (of course!), some walking trails, places to swim in the river and apparently, lots of wombats (we saw lots of holes, but no wombats!). It's only a short 10 minute drive from the city centre, but you feel like you are far away in the country. A lovely place. And typically Canberra!
